Enviro Image Solutions (EIS) has developed a patent-pending blanket program that rejuvenates spent printing blankets and allows them to be reused on press. The same printing blanket can be rejuvenated multiple times for reuse on press. As such, our blanket rejuvenation program not only reduces your blanket costs by up to 70 percent but also increases your sustainable green initiatives.

Translation: reusable printing blankets, a significant reduction in blanket costs and a direct contribution to environmental sustainability.

Here is how it works:

• Once a printer determines that a printing blanket is no longer usable, the blanket is set aside.
• Once sufficient blankets have been accumulated, they are sent to EIS.
• EIS restores the spent blankets back to their full quality using its multi-stage award winning technology.
• Only those reconditioned blankets that have passed the final quality inspection point are returned to the printer for reuse on press. The performance and life of the blankets are as good as new.

The same blanket can be rejuvenated multiple times as long as the top layer of a blanket is uncut and undamaged. Once the blanket can no longer be rejuvenated, its components are recycled or used in other applications.

Prompted by the huge explosion of UV energy curable inks, EIS is currently the only company in the world able to offer this innovative solution. After more than three years in development, the technology was first introduced in 2004 and EIS worked closely with leading printers to refine the process. The blanket rejuvenation program has been tested repeatedly on multiple presses and can be used with UV, conventional and hybrid printers.
